What I'm Doing Now
(This is a now page, and if you have your own site, you should make one, too.)
Updated January 6th, 2026 sitting at home while there's some left-over snow from two days ago.
Programming
While I do want to push SFML for its SFML 3.1.0 release, I've gotten a bit side-tracked with new and shiny side projects.
During my Quest for Permissively Licensed PDF Library in C#, I came across HTML-Renderer, which implemented its own dedicated HTML & CSS rendering engine with additional support for GDI, WPF, and PDFsharp. Unfortunately, it's been more or less abandoned and stuck in 2016 or so. I managed to get write access and have slowly started updating the library and cleaning up the issue tracker.
In order to update the PDFsharp part to the latest official version, I needed some code to resolve fonts in cross-platform way. As I have some future plans with PDFsharp and since I haven't really found a similar library for C#, I decided to implement it as separate library FontResolver. Turns out that there aren't exactly good OS-level APIs to deal with fonts.
Other projects that are currently on the back-burner are:
- Clockify - A Stream Deck Plugin
- Jobbr - A .NET Job Server
- bnkextr - Small CLI to extract contents from
*.bnkWwise sound banks - WindowsUI - Collection of minimal examples for each Windows UI framework / API
Writing
Writing is something I wish, I'd get to invest more time in, as I love putting my thoughts to paper and sharing it with whoever wants to read it.
I've like five different drafts of things, I do want to publish, hopefully something new gets out this week.
Some posts I recently published:
- Material for MkDocs Is No More! Long Live Zensical!
- Quest for Permissively Licensed PDF Library in C#
- Remove GitHub’s “Ghost” Notifications
- .NET Day Switzerland 2024
- ... (more)
Music
A big hobby of mine is to play my viola, preferably in a orchestra setting.
With the TiFiCo Sinfonie Orchester we're readying up for the two concerts this week!
Work
Zühlke Engineering AG is a consultancy, so I do work for other customers, mainly using C# and most often with some focus on web development.
Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to talk about the projects, I work on.
But there's some change on the horizon...
